ABOUT

Bushido no Hana is an upcoming samurai themed zine featuring the characters from Haikyuu!! It will be an art book focusing on depicting characters in the ‘7 virtues of Bushido’ or in other terms: code of the samurai. Characters will be grouped into what virtue they best represent as well as showcase scenes under that theme.

What content will you be including in this zine?

We are hoping to feature Bushido no Hana as an artbook paired with suitable merchandise.

Will the zine be physical or digital?

The interest check results will be determining any further ideas for the zine.

Which characters are you planning to include?

Though we do have a rough list including a majority of the characters, it will ultimately all result in what the artists decides to portray in their work.

Will there be ships featured?

This will also depend on the interest check. If applied they most likely will be more subtle just to not stray away too much from the main theme of the zine.

Who can apply and what are the positions?

We are only looking for artists to be featured in this zine. The positions that will be included are: Cover Artist, Illustrator, Comic Artist, and Merch Artist.

How old do I have to be to apply?

Due to the mature topics planned for the zine we are requiring for you to be at least 16 by the application period.

Is this purely artist driven?

Though we are planning on letting artists take advantage of the theme, we do have some guidelines that will be provided in order to fully fledge out the concept.

Will you be inviting guest artists? How many?

Yes we will! At the moment we are looking at bringing in about 7 guest artists.

How many contributors do you plan on accepting?

Overall, (subject to change) we are hoping to at least receive 30 contributors total.

Will this be SFW?
Before continuing please read our content warnings for what we have planned for the zine. Besides what has been listed for the most part this zine will be sfw.

This zine will be restricted to a 16+ audience as it will showcase scenes of violence, mild exposure, and minimal gore. This depiction of the characters and these scenarios are entirely fictional and are intended for entertainment as well as visual purposes only.

In order to honor the theme of the zine, some content may trigger some viewers. Please consider before pursuing further interest.

WHAT IS IT?

The 7 virtues of bushido (also known as the Bushido Code) is a set of principles meant to serve as guidance for the samurai. It is strictly followed as it is the entire layout for their lifestyle, meant to encourage warriors to pursue fighting for what they believed in without losing their sense of humanity.
